The near-absence of laws criminalizing the practice of fertility fraud until recently means no doctors have yet been criminally charged for the behavior. In 2019, Indiana became the second state, more than 20 years after California, to pass a statute making fertility fraud a felony. He added some of his biological children have “expressed gratitude for their existence” to him and even sent him photos of their own children. With rivers forming the backbone of transportation across the Amazon region, the drought has disrupted access to food and medicine in dozens of cities. The Amazon, the world's largest rainforest, is regarded by scientists as a bulwark against climate change because its dense vegetation absorbs carbon and emits oxygen. The five researchers predicting a 2026 recovery said the effects of the drought could endure even longer if El Nino is prolonged. That would release huge amounts of carbon dioxide, contributing to climate change and wiping out a wealth of plant and animal species found only in the Amazon.

CNN —A dream trip turned into a nightmare for the 1,000 passengers on board a cruise ship that was hit in storms, injuring 100. Everything went to plan until day 10 – November 2 – when the ship was en route to Gran Canaria, as storms approached. The ship remained safe at all times, but due to the impact of the storm some guests sustained injuries. It was last tracked off the coast of southern England, having departed Portsmouth for Lisbon, according to tracking website Vesselfinder. The route will take the ship through the Bay of Biscay again – hopefully with a smoother crossing this time.

These are just the first grim visions of extreme drought sweeping across Brazil’s Amazon. Raimundo Silva do Carmo, 67, makes his living as a fisherman, but these days has been struggling to simply find water. Like most rural residents in Brazil's Amazon, do Carmo typically retrieves water untreated from the biome's abundant waterways. The drought has affected most of the main rivers in the Amazon, the world’s largest basin, which accounts for 20% of the planet’s fresh water.

When Julia Lemberskiy moved to New York City in 2018, she wanted to buy property. Today, she owns three Airbnb properties that bring in up to $20,000 a month in revenue. Her overall investing strategy is to buy "undervalued properties" in "undervalued areas," which she finds by looking at approved development projects in the community. For starters, the purchase prices in New York City are astronomical.
